Albert Einstein once said that the only thing you absolutely have to know is the location of the library. Whatever else you may want to know you can find out once you get there. (And through the Internet, you can get there from the other side of the world, night or day.)
Every child and adult in the community would benefit by having a library card and using their library regularly. Children who read well have an improved chance of academic success which, in turn, leads to a greater likelihood of a professional career, personal fulfillment and prosperity.
The library is a safe place, a place of lifelong learning, a place of joy for young and old alike. Our children’s programs are carefully designed to enhance classroom learning. Our book collection is thoughtfully balanced and updated. Our media items represent a selection of the best reviewed and most popular. Our library computers introduce adults to digital technology. This year we added a service that makes it easy for educators to request an assortment of books on a classroom topic. We added Grab & Go kits for busy families with young readers. We expanded successful initiatives such as 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, Battle of the Books, and Book Club Kits.
Library services are provided free of charge to all, part of a great American tradition. They are supported through taxation, where we compete with other essential services that also require funding, so we need your help. Please invest in your library. Your donation will help us provide more resources, improve services, and find new ways to connect with community members in person and online. We are particularly anxious to increase the offerings in our digital library. With your help we can do these things. Your gift, no matter its size, will make a difference. Please take a moment right now to make your 2013 tax-deductible contribution using the secure PayPal online donor page.
Thank you for your support.
