Hopper Gets Comfortable at Swanville

Hopper joined a whole daycare full of nine children who attended a Leap Into Reading storytime at the Swanville Public Library on Nov. 8. Hopper is the library's big, green, Leap Into Reading mascot. He especially loves stories about ponds and bugs and nature, and so do children. The Leap Into Reading storytimes are a perfect tool to help libraries encourage the enjoyment of reading across the region.
The Swanville group heard volunteer storyteller Deborah Wood read:
Rabbits And Raindrops by Jim Arnosky,
   Wiggle Waggle by Jonathan London
Hop Jump by Ellen Still Walsh
Can You Hop? by Lisa Lawston, and
I Love You So Much by Carl Norac.
The children sat on the floor but Hopper took one of the new easy chairs in the reading area. The Swanville Public Library added some extra space this year so it is much more comfortable for a group storytime.
