Try New Nonfiction!
A good nonfiction book holds your interest, informing as it entertains. Your library has shelves full of them. We keep a list of recently purchased nonfiction titles on the New, Best & Fun page tabbed on top of the library catalog. Here are a few of the most recent entries.
"Eat Chocolate, Lost Weight." According to the subtitle, "new science proves you should eat chocolate every day." Author Will Clower, Ph.D., views chocolate as a health food. It's the world turned upside down.
"Down To The Crossroads: Civil rights, black power, and the Meredith march against fear." The prevailing injustice, the bravery of protestors, and the nation changing impact of the civil rights struggle continue to demand our attention.
"Moments That Made The Movies" by film critic David Thomson includes still photos from some of the most memorable scenes in some of the best movies ever made, as well as thoughts about why those scenes stick with us.
"We Are Our Brains: A neurobiography of the brain, from the womb to Alzheimer's" by D.F. Swaab, professor of neurobiology at the University of Amsterdam, helps make sense of human behavior by describing how the brain works.
