Basil the Therapy Dog Visits Waite Park Library

Basil the Therapy Dog Visits Waite Park Library

Basil, a trained therapy dog, will be visiting the Waite Park library again this summer looking for children who will read to her. Each child gets fifteen minutes with Basil to read. She will be at the library from 11 a.m. to 12 noon one Saturday each month this summer: June 15, July 13, and August 10.
Reading to a therapy dog gives young readers an opportunity to practice their reading skills in a fun, relaxed, and low-stress environment. Positive interaction with a calm, gentle therapy dog helps a child associate reading as a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
Open to children 5-10 years old. Register for a 15-minute spot at the library or call 320-253-9359.
