Learn Woodcarving from an Expert at Waite Park Library

Learn Woodcarving from an Expert at Waite Park Library

If you have ever wanted to try woodcarving, this Thursday, Dec. 8 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., you have the opportunity to find out more about the hobby from an expert woodcarver. Woodcarving expert and artist Ed Meyer will conduct a demonstration class at the Al Ringsmuth Public Library in Waite Park.
During the class, Meyer will talk about the basics of the hobby, explain how to handle wood and sharpen your tools, and show the tools needed. He will bring along some of his carvings, too, including completed projects as well as ones he is currently working on. The class is open to adults and teens 14 and older. Ed's carvings have been featured on the WCCO TV program "Out-n-About" with Ralph John Fritz, and a few are currently on display at the Waite Park library.
