2026 Summer Reading Challenge
JUNE 8 - AUGUST 8
Our theme this year is Plant a Seed, Read! which is rooted in the farm-to-table concept. A farm grows food that nourishes our bodies; a library grows ideas that nourish our minds. Both food and stories connect us to our family, culture, economy, and ecology. Join us for activities, programs, prizes, and, of course, reading throughout the challenge!
There are 3 different age groups:
- Early learner program for ages 0 to 4.
- Kids reading program for age 4 to grade 6.
- Teens reading program for grades 6 to 12.
There are 2 different ways to participate:
- Pick up a reading log at your local library
- Log your reading with Beanstack (in the app or online at griver.beanstack.org).
This year the Summer Reading Challenge runs from June 8 through August 8. It is for ages birth through 12th grade, and includes many different activities and incentives. Sign up at your local library for fun events, books, prizes and more. Keep track of the time you spend reading or doing reading-related activities using the Reading Records or by downloading the Beanstack Tracker app.
