Check Us Out This Summer--There's A LOT Going On At The Long Prairie Library!

Looking for something to do once school's out? We've got just what you're looking for at the Long Prairie Public Library!

The Summer Reading Program begins June 8 and there are fun things to do for all ages, 0-12th grade. Musician Paul Spring will help us kick things off with a fun concert on Tuesday, June 9, at 3:00 p.m. It's free and everyone is welcome! We'll have lots of fun quizzes all summer and LOTS of chances to win great prizes. Stop by the library and sign up for the SRP--you'll be glad you did!

Summer Story Time is every Tuesday, 3:00-3:45 p.m., June 16-Aug. 4. There will be lots of fun stories and crafts. For ages 3-6. Story time is limited to 10. Please call the library to register at 320-732-2332 or online at griver.org.

James Wedgwood, amazing and funny ventriloquist, will return to Long Prairie for another show! James will be at the library Tuesday, July 7, at 11:00 a.m. This show is free and everyone is welcome! Don't miss out on the fun!

Artist Shayann Hoffer will teach a class on basic drawing techniques including line, blending, composition, and scale of human anatomy. Shayann will also specifically cover the basics of portraiture and facial anatomy. For ages 13 and up. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Class size is limited and registration is required. Boo Boo the Fishing Clown will be at the library Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 11:00 a.m. Boo Boo will delight the audience with his show and will be making balloon animals. Boo Boo will slowly turn into a clown in front of the audience--helping children who may be afraid of clowns learn to love them! All ages are welcome.

And don't forget about the Friend's of the Library Used Book Sales! The first sale will take place during Prairie Fest, June 19-21. The sale runs Friday and Saturday, 9-5 and Sunday 12-3. The second sale takes place during Crazy Days, July 10-11. The sale will be held Friday, 9-5 and Saturday 9-3. Both sales will be held across the street from the library. All proceeds go to support the library. Donations accepted year round!
