GRRL has many tools to help you find your next great book or movie or music.
- Ask library staff for help! We are ready to help you find the materials and help you learn to use the tools available.
The library catalog is a great starting point for links to a variety of tools. When you are in most items' pages, you will see LibraryThing Similar Materials and Member tags below to help you find other similar titles. For example, a biography of president Abraham Lincoln would have other biographies listed below under Similar Materials, and tags like 'presidents,' 'American history,' or 'civil war,' to help you find other items on those topics.
The New, Best & Fun tab links you to lists of new books, movies, and music, as well as special lists for topic areas, current events, and programs. There are tabs of items for adults, teens, kid, or you can view all lists. Timely or topical lists will appear under the 'featured' tab.
Books titles have links to NoveList which gives reviews, "read alikes" and more suggestions. For help, check the NoveList help page. You will need your library card number and PIN to access NoveList from outside of the library.
WorldCat Genres guides you to titles, authors, subjects, characters, and locations you enjoy. The results are ranked by popularity in libraries around the world. If GRRL owns an item, you can follow a link to request it. If GRRL doesn't own an item you locate, we encourage you to suggest it.
- Libraries also have printed bookmarks and reading lists available.
