Support the Library
Welcome
Because our Central Minnesota community is strengthened when it values literacy, reading, and lifelong learning, Great River Regional Library seeks to build public and private partnerships that provide innovative learning opportunities for our 450,000 citizens. Through advocacy, donations, and our strong volunteer corps, GRRL remains a trusted source of information for learners of all ages.
Central Minnesota has made full use of all the resources offered by GRRL. Today the people who live, work, and study in our six-county area:
- check out 41% more materials than just 5 years ago; .
- borrowed 4.1 million items in 2009 to enhance their pursuit of learning;
- increased computer usage by 97% in the last 5 years, to more than 264,000 sessions in 2009; and
- attended more than 3,000 library programs last year such as Computer Instruction for Seniors, Interest and Assessment Job Search Tools, Baby Bounce, book clubs, and Game Night @ Your Library.
Thanks to the generous commitment of our library supporters, GRRL is continuing to meet Central Minnesota’s learning needs. Private donor support has made possible the purchase of thousands of new books and other materials,computers for individuals with visual and hearing impairments, and prize incentives for the Summer Reading Program serving nearly 10,000 children and teens.
You can be part of our success. Just as our advocacy program works to ensure sufficient public funding of GRRL, private support is increasingly important in improving our services and resources. Please give now. Join our advocacy network, donate by credit card or check/cash, or volunteer. There are many ways you can help.
